Common Questions

How does teeth whitening work?

Professional teeth whitening is much more effective and lasts much longer than at-home teeth whitening solutions. Your professional teeth whitening appointment begins with your dentist applying a hydrogen peroxide gel to the teeth. When the teeth whitening process is complete-- which takes approximately 20 minutes-- the gel is removed, and the process is repeated.

Do I need to schedule multiple teeth whitening treatments?

Elizabeth Wakim DDS uses the most advanced teeth whitening techniques available, which means patients can see results after a single teeth whitening session. However, many patients opt to schedule a series of 3 treatments over a few weeks to achieve optimum results.

Can my veneers be whitened?

Teeth whitening gels are not designed to accommodated veneers. If your veneers have become discolored, the issue can be addressed by replacing the stained veneers with new ones.
